グラフィックデザイナー、アートディレクター、ムービーディレクターといった様々な顔を持つ、多才なアーティスト安田昴弘氏。多岐にわたる彼の才能を集めた『GASBOOK 36』。

ご自身が印刷技術にも精通され、印刷で実現できる範囲をしっかりと理解いただいている安田先生。まずは当社プリンティングディレクターも同席してお打合せさせていただき、製版上では黒がポイントとなる部分にリッチブラック処理を行ったりして本機校正をお出しさせていただきました。その上で神楽坂の誠晃印刷の工場において、安田先生に全台立ち合いをしていただき、色についての方向性も明確にご指示いただきながら、最終的な可能・不可能を判断しつつ、作り上げたのが今回の本。

先生のオーダーに当社のオペレータも十分かつ迅速にお応えできたと思います。こういった立ち合いは当社では日常茶飯事に行われているので、オーダーに対する調整力や判断力は、やはり普段の仕事による積み重ねが大きいです。都心にあるというメリットを十分に生かせた事例です。

Akihiro Yasuda is a versatile artist who wears various hats as a graphic designer, art director, and movie director. “GASBOOK 36” is a collection of his diverse talents.

Mr. Yasuda is well-versed in printing technology and has a solid understanding of what can be achieved with printing. First, we had a meeting with our printing director, who was also present, and we sent out a proof of the machine, including applying rich black processing to areas where black is the key point in plate making. Then, at the Seiko Printing factory in Kagurazaka, Mr. Yasuda attended all the machines, gave clear direction regarding colors, and made final decisions on what was possible and what was not possible, and this book was created.

I believe that our operators were able to respond sufficiently and quickly to the teacher’s orders. Meetings like this happen on a daily basis at our company, so our ability to adjust and make decisions regarding orders is largely a result of our daily work. This is an example of taking full advantage of the advantages of being located in the city center.
