新宿区立漱石山房記念館様の令和６年度特別展、『三四郎の正体展』の図録をデザイン･印刷製本させていただきました。

日本を代表する文豪・夏目漱石は、今の新宿区喜久井町に生まれ、早稲田南町で没しています。漱石の小説や随筆には新宿の町の名前が数多く使われており、現在も区内に残るお寺や神社の名も作品の中に登場しています。漱石山房記念館様は、そんな漱石のゆかりの地・新宿区早稲田南町に、漱石生誕150周年を記念して平成29年（2017年）9月24日に開館しました。

今回の展示は、夏目漱石の小説『三四郎』のモデルとされている小宮豊隆の生涯と業績、漱石との交流の軌跡を追った展覧会です。貴重な資料や写真を数多く展示しており、そちらをまとめて収録した図録となっております。その当時の雰囲気を醸し出すような、ちょっとあせたような色合いを中心としたデザインは、多数の貴重な資料類の写真とともにその当時に誘ってくれるようです。

この貴重な展覧会は12月15日までとなっております。

We designed and printed and bound the catalog for the 2020 Special Exhibition, “Sanshiro’s True Identity Exhibition,” held by the Shinjuku Soseki Sanbo Memorial Museum.

Natsume Soseki, one of Japan’s leading literary figures, was born in what is now Kikui-cho, Shinjuku Ward, and died in Waseda Minami-cho. Many of the names of the town of Shinjuku are used in Soseki’s novels and essays, and the names of temples and shrines that still remain within the ward also appear in his works. The Soseki Yamabo Memorial Museum opened on September 24, 2017, in Waseda Minamicho, Shinjuku Ward, a place associated with Soseki, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Soseki’s birth.

This exhibition traces the life and achievements of Toyotaka Komiya, who is said to be the model for Natsume Soseki’s novel Sanshiro, and the history of his interactions with Soseki. A large number of valuable materials and photographs are on display, and this catalog is a collection of them all. The design focuses on slightly faded colors that evoke the atmosphere of that time, and along with the many photographs of valuable documents, it seems to take you back to that time.

This valuable exhibition will run until December 15th.
