フラメンコの熱気と迫力を紙上に再現。前作『KIKORI』からのご信頼により結実した一冊。

写真家 近藤佳奈さんが9年間撮り続けてきた、フラメンコの聖地・ガルロチの記憶を残すための写真集『GARLOCHÍ』を担当させていただきました。
製本・印刷にあたって最も大切にしたのは、写真から立ちのぼる熱気と迫力をそのまま紙の上に再現することです。 濃度感や色のインパクトを生かすため、コントラストと鮮やかさを丁寧に調整しつつ、暗部のディテールが潰れない絶妙なデータ作成を行なっています。

また、モノクローム調の写真においては、印刷時にカラーバランスがブレないようCMYKの分版処理にも細心の注意を払いました。本番の印刷現場では、写真集全体の統一感を保ちながら、近藤さん立ち会いのもとご希望に沿った精密な色調整を行なっています。

本作は、2024年に担当させていただいた写真家 山口規子さんの写真集『KIKORI』と同じ仕様・同じ印刷所で作成したいという近藤さんご本人の強いご希望から実現いたしました。

Kana Kondo Photo Book GARLOCHÍ (Nihon Shashin Kikaku)

Recreating the passion and intensity of flamenco on the printed page — a publication made possible through the trust established with the previous work, KIKORI.
We had the privilege of producing GARLOCHÍ, a photo book by photographer Kana Kondo that preserves the memories of Garlochí, a renowned sanctuary of flamenco, documented over nine years of dedicated photography.

The most important objective throughout the printing and binding process was to faithfully reproduce the passion, energy, and dramatic presence conveyed in the photographs. To maximize the impact of the rich tones and vibrant colors, we carefully refined contrast and saturation while creating image data that preserved subtle shadow details without sacrificing depth.
For the monochromatic images, special attention was given to CMYK color separation to ensure stable color balance throughout the printing process. During press checks, precise color adjustments were carried out in close collaboration with Ms. Kondo, maintaining consistency across the entire volume while achieving the exact tonal qualities she envisioned.

This project was realized through Ms. Kondo’s strong desire to produce the book using the same specifications and printing facility as KIKORI, the photo book by photographer Noriko Yamaguchi that we produced in 2024.
